A blog dedicated to innovative thinking.
It’s about things that you, your team, and your organization can do to become more innovative.
Blip is based on the belief that the world is sub-optimal. It’s about gaining perspectives and skills to help us see that clearly.
Then it’s about identifying problems and coming up with creative ways to solve them.
Why be innovative?
There are two reasons: one practical and one personal.
The practical reason: there were times when being innovative used to be a choice. Not anymore. In today’s world disruptions have become the norm. If you are not constantly evolving your working methodology the clock is ticking for you.
The personal reason: innovation makes life more interesting and makes work more fun. Without innovation, work feels like drudgery. When creative thinking is an integral part of work, suddenly emerges a plot – a challenge and a plan.
Why innovating is hard?
Mostly because you have to fight your experience to innovate.
Man is a creature of habit. And we all become habitual of thinking in certain ways and doing things the way we have been doing them for long. By definition, innovation requires us to come up with new ways of thinking and doing. That makes our habits a hindrance in this pursuit and we all know habits are hard to change.
Innovation requires perspective shifting – a process that needs effort and practice. Those are things that you do only when you have no other choice or when there is something that greatly inspires you to do them. That is why innovation is hard.
How can Blip help?
Blip is not merely paying lip service to innovation. It’s about actually doing it in real life.
That’s why we post a lot about how to overcome the strategic and mental challenges you face on your innovation journey. We also post stories of successful and unsuccessful attempts at innovation in various industries from which you can take lessons. Lastly, we share real stories from our own innovation journey at GreyB.
By following Blip, you are essentially building an innovative mindset. Ultimately your subconscious mind will constantly scanning possibilities for innovation like a radar – letting none slip! Then when you locate those opportunities you’ll already know what to do about them.
